The Situation

I'm not sure how much everyone knows, so I'll just go over everything.

Last night Paul was driving on the Whitehouse to Keig road. He lost control around a corner and crashed in to a tree. There were no other cars involved, Andrew was in the car as well. They were both taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Andrew doesn't have any major injuries.

Currently (1pm, 13th Nov.) Paul is sedated in Intensive Care. He has head injuries, cerebral contusion (bruising of the brain) at least. He has had a CT scan but I haven't heard exactly what the results of that were.

From what I've heard the plan is to try and ease off the sedation sometime today and hope he wakes up on his own.

Right now that's all I know. His parents are with him; Anna and Eilidh were there earlier in the day. Holly and I are going to try and go in later.

I appreciate that it is easier to text people because we all carry our phones all the time, but in order to keep everyone updated it would be good if you could post any developments you hear about here so we don't have to rely on the grape vine so much. Even if you just text me I can post whatever it is.

If you are going in to see Paul or would like to go in at a certain point let us know. Remember that the hospital says only 2 people at a bed at a time (they might stretch to 3) and his family will probably be with him most of the time, so keep groups small, but there's no need to go alone.

I think I'm going to get the train at 6.15 tonight which will get me in at 8.30. Do you think it will be best to leave visiting him until tomorrow though since it will be quite late by the time I'm there?

Hello Laura and all,

hes ok
theyve removed all his pipes and and stuff and hes responsive to touch.
hes settled now, curled up in a ball, apparently was very restless earlier.

Mark sent me a text saying it was probably better if we wait till hes been moved to a different ward if were all planning on seeing him in a group
i have lectures tomorrow morn but want to go visit him in the afternoon (id quite like to go with just one other person or so)

basically between my flat, ross's and amy's we should be able to work out somewhere for everyone to be so we can visit in small groups, that way we all get to see him.

hoping he has a good night
xx

that's good news.

I've got a test from 12 until 1 which I can't really miss, so anna and I could go in later on if Holly and Katharine (and Suzanne?) went in around midday? Something like that.

Also, suzanne, could you text me or something so I have your number, it's maddness that I never got it before now. Thanks.

Hi,
How are gavin and stuart getting in to town? are they staying with Anna or will they need me to give them a lift in? If not I'll have room for Suzanne.

Hi all - Seonaid here - I can provide transport for any of Pauls' friends in Alford who may be struggling for lifts into Aberdeen, as I have baby Faith I may not manage at the drop of a hat but will do my best if needed - 07989 965540

Thanks for keeping us all up to date. I am sure that having his friends around can only help. Is there anything that you can all do to help Pat,Martyn & Mark - maybe a visiting rota or get them some food or fresh clothes or feed pets etc?
Look after each other.
